by

On January 28, 2021, automotive giant Tesla Inc. announced the recall of around 120,000 Model S and Model X electric vehicles due to defects in the mounting brackets that secure the car’s front doors. The defects may potentially cause the doors to open during a crash.

The recall applies to Tesla Model S vehicles manufactured between 2012 and 2018, and Model X vehicles manufactured between 2016 and 2018. Tesla has said that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Tesla is offering free repairs and is requesting that owners affected by the recall contact their local service center or mobile service provider for assistance. The repairs take about an hour to complete.
