European Union regulators accuse Apple of breaching the bloc’s tech rules

European Union regulators have recently accused Apple Inc. of breaching competition law in relation to its App Store practices. The allegations come as part of the EU’s ongoing investigation into Apple’s handling of in-app payments.

The European Commission, the executive arm of the EU, believes that Apple has a monopoly over how people download apps on Apple devices. The company requires all app developers to use its proprietary in-app purchase system, for which it charges a 30% commission.
